PETERS TOWNSHIP’ S ANNE DAVIS HONORED BY AMERICAN RED CROSS
Anne Davis, a Peters Township resident and executive director of Horses with Hope, was recently recognized at the 2025 American Red Cross Power of Red Celebration of Heroes at the Heinz History Center. Davis was one of just five honorees, celebrated for more than 20 years of leadership in therapeutic riding programs that serve the special needs community.
Anne and her husband, Joel, founded Horses with Hope 21 years ago, inspired by their daughter Jamie, who was born with Down syndrome. What began with just three students has grown into a sanctuary serving more than 700 clients, offering equine-assisted therapy that builds confidence, motor skills and emotional healing.
“ Therapeutic riding is immeasurably unique in that it is the horse who gives therapy to the individual,” Davis said.“ One visit to the farm changes your life.”
