PT WELCOMES NEW STAFF MEMBERS
T
he first day in a new school is an overwhelming and
exciting time for anyone – even our new teachers in
the Peters Township School District! On August 13th,
the District’s new hires reported for their induction
program and were greeted by a team of District Administrators
to officially welcome them to our community.
Our induction team includes teachers, principals and
administrators and provides a comprehensive and practical
overview of the District’s best practices and expectations. The
effort is led by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Michael Fisher.
“Becoming a new teacher in Peters Township School District
is no easy task,” said Fisher. “Each year we have hundreds
of applicants eager to teach in our schools. These new staff
members rose to the top through a very comprehensive hiring
process and we are confident they will be an asset to our schools
and this community.”
In addition to the training, the new staff members were invited
to an annual Welcome Luncheon hosted by the Peters Township
Chamber of Commerce. The new teachers had a chance to meet
and talk with local business owners and parents who attended
the event at Bella Sera. Following the lunch, the teachers
also visited the Peters Township Public Library to learn about
available programs and services through the library’s partnership
with the District.

GET TO KNOW: JEFF LUCK
I
n any visit to our schools you will
encounter talented and dedicated
individuals who make each child’s
school day fun and challenging. In
each issue, we are profiling some of our
staff members to help parents and the
community get to know some of these
people. This month, we asked District
Maintenance staff member Jeff Luck
to answer our questions. We wanted
everyone to get to know Mr. Luck!
Have you always been handy? Where
did you interest start?
I’ve always enjoyed working with
my hands, investigating the mechanics
of how and why things work the way
they do. This started at an early age
from modifying bicycles, mini bikes,
motorcycles, and then cars and trucks.
What other interesting jobs have you
held?
I was employed at a large printing
company for many years. I worked my

way from forklift operator to Master
printer.
What is your favorite thing to do
outside of work?
I love to be outdoors. When I’m not at
work, I enjoy fishing, hunting, kayaking
and riding ATVs.
and with every day. When you get to
know our staff, you can see why Peters
Township is one of the top districts in the
state.
What is an unusual part of your job
that most people wouldn’t think was
part of your responsibilities?
The unique thing about my job is
that everyday I have a chance to do
something different. You never know
what you will be working on next. I
could be fixing a plumbing problem in
a classroom one morning and up in the
bucket truck working on stadium lights
that afternoon.
What has been one of your favorite
things about working in PT Schools?
One of my favorite things about my
job is the people I’m able to work for
Mr. Luck gets ready for a project.
