Tweens and teens get crafty in the Makerspace with 3D pens, which extrude heated plastic from the pen’ s nozzle that cools almost instantly, allowing for free-hand creation of three-dimensional designs.

Tweens interested in using the Makerspace, however, must always be accompanied by an adult, who can help them. Together, they can use non-certified equipment, use equipment the adult is certified to use, or make an appointment to learn something new.
“ STEM programs and equipment at the library introduce digital literacy concepts in a conducive and creative environment for youth,” Quinn says.“ They challenge youth to make something as they develop new skills.”

Browse our collection of STEM-related equipment, including sewing and embroidery machines, coding robots, a Cricut Maker 3, 3D printing pens, and more.
