It seems like yesterday that the former Rolling Hills Country Club property began its transformation , but in just five years the land has gone from concept to creation and the new Peters Township High School is opening its doors .
In 2016 , the District began the process of examining the state of our District facilities . Wanting to make the best long-range plans for our community , the Board of School Directors completed a comprehensive High School Feasibility Study , as well as a District-wide Facilities Assessment . They not only examined the current conditions of District facilities , but they looked at demographic trends and future educational programming – all while remaining grounded in financial responsibility to our community .
After months of intense study , the Board entered into an agreement with Hayes Design to proceed with plans for the new Peters Township High School in July 2017 . The following months were a whirlwind as funding was put in place , plans were finalized following feedback from staff , students and community stakeholders , and contractors were approved . The official groundbreaking took place on the beautiful grounds of the new school on July 19 , 2018 and work got underway .
In the nearly thirty months that followed , the future of our District took shape . The result is a state of the art educational center that focuses on flexibility of instruction , in all of its forms . For everything from physics to the fine arts , the new building offers exciting opportunities for learning and creating .
