CITIZEN’S POLICE ACADEMY
O
n Nov. 14, 2017, the Peters Township Police
Department graduated its second Citizen’s Police
Academy (CPA). Eighteen community members
participated in the six-week program, designed
to expand the knowledge and understanding of the law and
explore police procedures. The participants were offered
sessions in the following subjects: overview of police training,
the Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Vehicle Code, Peters
Township ordinances, DUI enforcement, traffic enforcement,
police use of force, firearms safety, crime scene investigations,
interview and interrogation, and drug enforcement. Special
thanks to all of the participants and all of the members of the
Police Department who assisted with the program.

ROLLING HILLS PARK EARNS ITS NAME

Dec. 18, 2017 Council meeting for
her contribution in naming the
newest Township park.
In October 2017, Peters Township
Council held a contest to name the
new Township Park, located along E.
McMurray Road, on the site of the former
Rolling Hills Country Club. A total of 192
entries were submitted by residents.
On Nov. 13, 2017, Peters Township
Council selected “Rolling Hills Park” as the
official name of the new park. Thirteen
residents submitted Rolling Hills Park as
an entry into the contest. After a random
drawing of these entries, Brenda Falcione
was selected as the winner of the park
naming contest. She received a $250
prize, a copy of the park’s master plan,
a certificate, and recognition at a Peters
Township Council meeting.
