CREATE IN THE MAKERSPACE
Meet with Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn for these Makerspace programs . All materials are provided . Registration is required . Visit ptlib . org / cal for more details , including dates , age requirements and more . Please note that the holidays may affect some class dates .
EMBROIDERY MACHINE BASICS * For adults only First Monday of the month , afternoon and evening sessions available Register for a one-on-one session to learn how to use the Makerspace ’ s Baby Lock Aventura II Embroidery Machine . During this 45-minute session , you will learn the ins and outs of the embroidery machine and complete a small project to take home . This program is intended for beginners .
INTRO TO MACHINE SEWING * Second Monday of the month , afternoon and evening sessions available Learn how to use the Makerspace sewing machines ! During this program , participants will learn how to thread a machine , wind a bobbin and replace the needle . Participants will have the opportunity to try out a few stitches on our sewing machines and learn how they can access the machines outside the program . This program is intended for beginners .
SEW CREATIVE * Fourth Monday of the month , afternoon and evening sessions available During this program , you will use the Makerspace ’ s sewing machines to create a simple project . This program is intended for sewers who have a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine .
NEEDLE FELTING For adults only Third Tuesday & Thursday of the month , morning and afternoon sessions available Needle felting is the process of transforming wool into 3D objects using a barbed needle . Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn to learn how to create a needle-felted project . Please register for only one class per month .
E-RESOURCE EXPLORATION For all ages Fourth Tuesday , every other month , 2 to 2:45 p . m . Hybrid program – Join us in the Makerspace on the 2nd floor or watch via Zoom from home Explore one of the free e-resources provided by the Peters Township Public Library . You will learn how to access the e-resource and navigate its features . If attending virtually , you will be provided a Zoom link via email .
3D MODELING For ages 13 and up First Thursday of the month , select months ; check calendar Learn the basics of Tinkercad . Our Technology and Makerspace Librarian will teach you the basics of Tinkercad as she guides you through a project . All participants must have a basic understanding of how to use a computer .

CRICUT CREATIONS * For adults only Second Thursday of the month , afternoon and evening sessions available Learn how to use the Cricut to make a project ! You ’ ll learn the Design Space app to create a project using the Cricut machine . Please register for only one class per month .
CRICUT MACHINE 101 * For adults only Second Thursday of the month , afternoon and evening sessions available Learn how to use the Cricut Maker 3 ! The Cricut Maker 3 is a smart cutting machine that can cut over 300 different materials . During this class , you will learn the capabilities of the Cricut machine , navigate through the Design Space software and complete a simple cut paper shape . This program is intended for beginners .
3D PRINTING INTRO For ages 13 and up First Thursday , every other month , 6:30 to 7:30 p . m . Explore 3D printing during this interactive presentation . You ’ ll learn how 3D printers work , see 3D printed objects and discuss how you can access and use the 3D printers in our Makerspace !
3D PEN ART * For adults only Fourth Friday , every other month , 2 to 3:30 p . m . Create 3D designs using the Makerspace ’ s 3D Pens , which extrude heated plastic from the pen ’ s nozzle that cools almost instantly into a solid , stable structure , allowing for the free-hand creation of three-dimensional objects . There will be a variety of templates to use , or you can design your own project .
* Completing this program earns you the Makerspace Certificate for the featured piece of equipment , which enables you to use the equipment independently outside of a program or appointment .
