The Peters Township Bicycle
Patrol has returned! Officers on the
Bicycle Patrol Unit will utilize the
inherent advantages of the bicycle
to accomplish tasks such as crime
deterrent patrol in the community.
The police department anticipates
the Bicycle Patrol Unit (BPU) will
be very effective enforcing laws
and ordinances and deterring
criminal activity while providing
residents with an approachable,
visible representative of the Peters
Township Police Department. The
use of the Bicycle Patrol Officers in
the community-- both residential
and business-- will reduce crime
and increase contact with the
public.
Currently, the Peters Township
Bicycle Patrol Unit has four trained
officers. Officer James Stevick,
Officer William Woods, Officer
Andrew Greene, and Officer Frank
Marko all received their training
through the International Police
Mountain Bike Association.
