In this presentation, Rebecca Bowman will show parents how to take advantage of opportunities to “find” money. She’ll look at the significance of building a student resume and keeping records, the importance of having a disciplined plan, and the power of building a portfolio. Rebecca Bowman is a McMurray business owner whose children attended the Peters Township School District, college, and graduate school. She’s both a professional civil engineer and an attorney, currently serving on both the Construction Appeals Board and as Vice-president of the School Board. Medicare 101 Thursday, Aug. 18, 1 to 2:30 p.m. OR Thursday, Sept. 29, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Presented by: Adele Dean, Regional APPRISE Coordinator for Western PA Join us for a discussion of both the Medicare and APPRISE programs. Handouts and New to Medicare packets will be available. Dean will screen participants for assistance programs, such as PACE/PACENET, Extra Help, and the Medicare Savings Programs. The session will provide detailed information about Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period as well. APPRISE is a free health insurance counseling program designed to help older Pennsylvanians with Medicare. As a reminder, open enrollment for 2017 Medicare coverage will be from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. Staycation Movie Night: in Celebration of the National Park Service Thursday, Aug. 25, 3 to 5 p.m. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service on Aug. 25, we will be screening the first installment of Ken Burn’s riveting six-part documentary about the National Parks.
