Community Blood Drive Wednesday, Aug. 24, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This exhibit explores the Civil War and issues of slavery through political cartoons depicting Abraham Lincoln and his policies. The cartoons are vividly biting and invite the viewer to put aside 21st century assumptions and look at events through the eyes of people living in the era. As Americans continue to debate the legacy of slavery, these cartoons provide a historical reference for current events. This exhibit comes to the library courtesy of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
