The annual street resurfacing program should be near completion.
The $1.5 million allocated for repaving and rejuvenating roads has
certainly made a positive impact on road conditions.
Peterswood Park Improvements—Shelter 1
The new shelter in Peterswood Park with a kitchen is complete
and was dedicated on Community Day. Its use is in high demand.
Amphitheater
The current amphitheater is definitely showing its age. The 32 year
old structure served the community well, but is now in need of a
replacement. The new amphitheater facility with a roof feature will
provide users with more programming opportunities. It will be
available next season for concerts and other activities.
Playground
Later this year, a bid to replace the playground near Shelter 4 will
take place. Similar to the current playground, the new one will be
designed to accommodate those with disabilities.
Municipal Buildi ng
Renovations to create a better experience for visitors and improve
security issues in the municipal building are underway. There
may be situations where board meetings need to be temporarily
conducted in other buildings.
Public Works—Roof project
After 30 years the roof of the Public Works main building needed
to be replaced. The project came in under budget and is being
done by McClure Construction, a local company.
