CHARITY BINGO NIGHT SUPPORTS VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS
On Dec. 6, approximately 350 community members gathered for a sold-out 7th Annual Holiday Bingo event benefiting Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans and the Penn Hills No. 7 Volunteer Fire Department. There was also a collection for Toys for Tots.
Attendees enjoyed an evening of bingo, raffles, 50 / 50 drawings, a special $ 1,000 Jackpot, food and fellowship.
Life Changing Service Dogs for Veterans provides fully trained service dogs to veterans at no cost, to help with mobility challenges, balance support, and symptoms related to post-traumatic stress disorder.
A highlight of the fundraiser was a visit from two service dog teams, Tammy and her service dog, TJ, and Craig and his service dog, Foxy. The canines were able to spend time interacting with the guests while their partners answered questions about daily life with a service dog.
These dogs can significantly improve independence and quality of life for veterans.
For Penn Hills No. 7 VFD, funds go toward maintaining equipment, training and operational readiness for the allvolunteer organization.
