BREAK OUT THE TARTAN!
The St. Andrew’ s Society of Pittsburgh invites you to celebrate all things Scottish with Tartan Day on April 5 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in the South Hills. The church is located at 2999 Bethel Church Road in Bethel Park.
Tartan Day is Scottish Independence Day, celebrating the Declaration of Arbroath which was signed on April 6, 1320, asserting Scotland’ s sovereignty over England’ s territorial claims. Tartans are the plaid patterns representing different clans of Scotland.
Admission and parking are free for the celebration, which lasts from 10 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. and will feature great food, entertainment, vendors and raffles. There will also be clan workshops and representatives from area organizations.
