FALL FUN !
“ Autumn in the Hills ” is a fall-themed event for all ages ! The fun happens on Saturday , Oct . 5 , from 2 to 7 p . m . at the Rosedale Volunteer Fire Dept . Memorial Park , located behind the Penn Hills VFD 222 , at 5806 Verona Road .
The event will feature live music , great food , drinks , unique vendors and even axe throwing ! The event is rain or shine , and is hosted by the Penn Hills Rotary and Penn Hills Development Corp .
NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM !
There ’ s a chill in the air as the Kerr Museum features its Halloween exhibit , currently running now through Nov . 2 . ( The Kerr Museum is open by appointment by calling 412.826.9295 .)
Expect Halloween decor of the Victorians in the stately Queen Anne style mansion , with special treats in every corner !
The museum is also offering a special Halloween night tour , “ Fear and Fiction in the Victorian Age ,” on Oct . 12 , 19 and 26 . These tours require pre-paid reservations and book up quickly , so be sure to reserve your spot now !
Take a walk in the world of Gothic literature , which was often filled with creepy , ghostly tales .

VERONA HISTORICAL SOCIETY EVENTS
The Verona Historical Society always has interesting events throughout the year , and fall is no exception !
On Thursday , Oct . 17 , the society presents a program for National Italian Heritage Month . This will interest many area residents who have an Italian background , with Melissa Marinaro from the Heinz History Center giving the presentation .
On Thursday , Nov . 21 , “ The Encampment at Valley Forge , 1777- 1778 ” will be presented by Ken Cherry . This will detail a pivotal time in our nation ’ s history when the Republic could have been won or lost .
