Holiday Card Art Contest
Norwin School District is pleased to announce that Norwin High School student Timothy Langer has won this year ’ s Holiday Card Art Contest .
The contest was open to all K-12 Norwin students , and over 100 students submitted artwork for the contest .
Timothy ’ s artwork will be featured on this year ’ s district holiday card , which will be sent to every employee and many community partners . The student winner also receives a gift card , funded through the District ’ s partnership with the Norwin School District Community Foundation .

In the event that we experience inclement weather , the District may decide to operate on a two-hour delay schedule with students reporting to school late or to enact a Flexible Instruction Day ( FID ) with students working from home for the entire day .
Similar to past years , the Norwin School District may use up to five Flexible Instruction Days during the 2024-2025 school year . The purpose of a FID is to maintain a continuity of instruction through remote learning on a day when students are not able to attend in person , and to avoid having to cancel school due to inclement weather .
If enacted , students will not report to school and transportation will not be provided on a Flexible Instruction

Day . Students will participate in remote learning with details provided by their classroom teachers and building principals .

The decision to delay or enact a Flexible Instruction Day considers numerous factors including current road and weather conditions , the temperature and windchill , and the forecast . Typically , the decision to delay or cancel classes is made prior to 5:30 a . m . However , there are occasions that changing road and weather conditions will necessitate a later decision .
