CELEBRATE THE WESTMORELAND ’ S 65TH ANNIVERSARY
Celebrate the Westmoreland Museum of American Art ’ s 65th anniversary of opening its doors to the public by visiting the special exhibition presenting 65 artists from the permanent collection .
In this milestone year , the museum is thinking about its role and responsibility to foster conversations that will cultivate an understanding of artistic expression , illuminate the interconnectedness of American stories , and value underrepresented perspectives .
You are invited to join in this forwardlooking journey , celebrating 65 years of art , culture , and community , with the exhibit on view through Sept . 8 .
TRI-STATE MCDONALD ’ S RESTAURANTS TEAM UP WITH THE PENGUINS FOR A CAUSE
Fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins found a new way to cheer on the team while also supporting an amazing local charity . And it scored in a big way !
At the beginning of the NHL season , McDonald ’ s restaurants across the tristate area teamed up with the Pens for a limited-time promotion : co-branded cold soft drink insulated sleeves . Local Mickey D ’ s sold the sleeves for $ 6 and a portion of the proceeds benefited Ronald McDonald House Charities ( RMHC ) of Pittsburgh and Morgantown .
The grand total ? $ 60,000 to support families who travel to Morgantown and Pittsburgh seeking lifesaving care for their children . RMHC provides a home away from home for those families so they can focus on their children ’ s recovery .
“ I ’ m so pleased this promotion raised significant funds to underwrite the vital work RMHC is doing in the community ,” said McDonald ’ s owner / operator Art Alamo .
