Dr. Jeffrey M. Taylor, new Norwin Superintendent of Schools Norwin Hires New Superintendent DR. JEFFREY M. TAYLOR BEGINS JULY 1 ST M embers of the Norwin Board of Education have selected a successor for outgoing Superintendent Dr. William Kerr. Dr. Jeffrey M. Taylor will lead the district as its next superintendent of schools beginning July 1, 2019. Dr. Taylor has twenty-five (25) years of educational experience and has spent the past seventeen years in administrative capacities. He is currently the Assistant Superintendent of the North Hills School District, a role he has held since 2012. He looks forward to contributing to the Norwin School District’s Mission Statement of “Preparing students to become productive and responsible citizens in an ever-changing global society.” “I am both honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve the Norwin community as its Superintendent of Schools,” Dr. Taylor said. “I am looking forward to building partnerships and collaborating with our many stakeholders.” Mrs. Barbara Viola, Board President, said, “Dr. Jeffrey Taylor comes to us with solid experience and much enthusiasm. There is no doubt he will continue to move Norwin forward from Great to Extraordinary.” Capitalizing on his successful seventeen (17) years of administrative experience, Dr. Taylor looks forward to leading the Norwin School District by leveraging his skills and experience to provide exceptional collaboration and team-building while utilizing his extensive background in K-12 curriculum, instruction, assessment, online learning 28 NORWIN programs, school finance, human resources, and overall school operations. Over the course of his twenty-five (25) year career in education, Dr. Taylor has served in has a wide range of administrative and teaching experiences, including serving as Director of Curriculum, Assessment & Technology, a position he held at North Hills School District prior to becoming Assistant Superintendent. At Charleroi Area School District, he served as both High School Principal & Secondary Curriculum Coordinator, as well as Assistant High School Principal. At Baldwin-Whitehall School District, Dr. Taylor served as Attendance Officer/Disciplinarian, and also as a Teacher/Technology Mentor. He began his teaching career at Fort Cherry Jr./Sr. High School, serving as a Teacher/Network Administrator. Dr. Taylor is also active in the Pennsylvania Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (PASCD), including serving as President of the organization from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, he has received numerous special honors and recognitions including, but not limited to: n Finalist for the Teacher Excellence Foundation Award in recognition of exemplary teaching practices. n The Robert E. Flynn Distinguished Educator Award.
