our students participated in the Convestro Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair on April 1,
2016 at Heinz Field. This competition is part of Mr. Brian Nevi’s science research elective course offered at
Norwin High School. The fair serves students in grades 6-12, representing 23 counties in western PA and one
county in Maryland. There were approximately 1200 students that this year’s fair.
The following students received recognition for their hard work:
Norwin High School
Hayley Lovett (Grade 11).............. Scholarship to Harrisburg University of Science and Technology
$5000 per year scholarship ($20000 total) to Carlow College
(only 3 of these scholarships were awarded)
Sydney Schock (Grade 12)............ Scholarship to Harrisburg University of Science and Technology
$2000 per year scholarship ($8000 total) to Geneva College
(only offered to 2 seniors at the fair)
Norwin Middle School (Dr. Connie Palmer assisted Cecilia)
Cecilia Felder (Grade 8) ................. Third Place – Consumer Science/Math – Intermediate
