Norwin Yearbook Earns National Recognition
Norwin Knights at PNC Park is Back!
The Norwin School District is proud to announce the return of Norwin Knights at PNC Park! This year’ s event offers a unique opportunity for over 90 Norwin High School students to collaborate with the Pittsburgh Pirates on a real-world marketing campaign.
As part of this initiative, students from the Sports Marketing and Social Media classes have been challenged to develop and execute a marketing campaign to sell 1,000 tickets for the game, which will take place on Sunday, May 4, at 1:35 PM. A portion of each ticket sold will directly support the A + Facilities Capital Campaign.
To prepare for this challenge, students recently visited PNC Park, where they received an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the stadium, including the Press Conference Room, World Series Suites, and dugout. They also participated in a professional training session led by the Pirates’ Sales & Marketing teams, where they learned industry techniques and competed to deliver the best sales pitch.
The inaugural 2022 event was a great success, bringing together 500 Norwin families and community members. With this year’ s expanded student involvement, the district looks forward to an even greater turnout and an unforgettable experience for all.
Join us at PNC Park and support our students as they put their skills to the test in this real-world marketing challenge!

NORWIN SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
Young Knights
Earlier this year, local preschools and Pre-K classroom teachers teamed up with the Norwin School District to host the second Young Knights session of the year. During this session, Young Knights had the opportunity to tour the buildings and participate in four fine motor stations. Families practiced number readiness, concepts of print, book handling, and tracking print. Those in attendance also received materials and handouts to continue their readiness skills at home.
The Young Knights preschool transition program is made possible through a grant from the United Way, allowing the District to partner with local preschools to provide a smooth transition into kindergarten. There is one more session planned for this school year on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Registration information can be found on each of the elementary school’ s websites. If you have any questions, please contact the district transition coordinators Susan Seymour at seymour. susan @ norwinsd. org or Kim Tarris at tarris. kim @ norwinsd. org

2023-24 Pennon Team’ s Work Featured in Jostens’ Prestigious Look Book
Congratulations to the 2023-2024 NHS Pennon Yearbook team on receiving national recognition from Jostens! An aspect of last year’ s yearbook, Long Live the Castle, has been selected for inclusion in the 2025 Look Book, a prestigious collection showcasing exemplary work from schools across the country. This rare honor is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and creativity of the editors, officers, and staff. Norwin is one of only 500 schools chosen out of more than 20,000 nationwide— an incredible achievement!
