NEW RENAISSANCE THEATRE SHOWS
The New Renaissance Theatre announced the “ unscripted ” Shakespearean plays it will be presenting for the 2024 season , “ Much Adoe About Nothing ” and “ Twelfe Night , or What You Will .” This group performs unrehearsed Shakespeare ( oftentimes with hilarious results !) at open-air spaces all around the Pittsburgh area .
This year ’ s tour will run from June 21 through July 14 . Check online for updates on the performance schedule and catch one of the free shows !

GOLFING FOR DOGS !
No , the dogs won ’ t actually be playing golf , but people can make some dogs ’ lives much better by participating in the Great Pyrenees Charity Golf Tournament !
The tournament is held to benefit the Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania , an all-volunteer organization . It ’ s an annual event that brings the community together to help with the rescue and rehabilitation of Great Pyrenees and other giant breeds , their medical expenses and rehoming .
The tournament will be held Aug . 26 at Edgewood Country Club in Churchill . There will be prizes for first , second and third place , as well as skill prizes . In addition to great golf on a lovely course , there will be dinner and a raffle .
FOOD RESCUE HERO A GOLD WINNER IN SUSTAINABILITY , ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE AT ANTHEM AWARDS
The “ DoorDash for Good ” has kept 186 million pounds of good food from going to landfills .
The Anthem Awards named Food Rescue Hero a gold winner for Best Use of Technology for Sustainability , Environment & Climate in its 3rd annual awards program . This year ’ s winners were selected from a pool of more than 2,000 submissions from 44 countries by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences ( IADAS ).
Described as a “ DoorDash for Good ,” Food Rescue Hero combines technology , last-mile logistics and community engagement to create a food recovery and redistribution network that delivers nutritious food directly to food-insecure communities . Its 50,000 users have rescued more than 186 million pounds of good food ( or about 155 million meals ) that would otherwise have gone to waste , mitigating 334 million pounds of CO2 emissions along the way .
The organization and other Anthem Awards winners were selected by an intellectually diverse body of judges who are leaders from across the impact industry .
