SUMMER READING SIGN UPS BEGIN MAY 20th

Spring has just begun , but Summer Reading is just around the corner . Sign ups begin May 20th on the library website and in the Children ’ s Library .

This year ’ s theme is “ Adventure Begins ”. Get ready for events involving nature , sports , art , and music at your library . This schedule runs through June , but you can find all of our events and plans for the rest of our Summer Reading Program at www . norwinpubliclibrary . net .

Summer Reading Kickoff Monday , June 10th @ 11 AM
Local artist Bob Weaver will perform a live art demonstration . We will provide chalk so you can add your own creative expression to our sidewalk . All Ages Welcome .
Carnegie Museum of Natural History Wednesday , June 12th 11 AM - 3 PM
Join us for an open house style event . All Ages Welcome .
Tech Knights Friday , June 14th @ 11 AM
Bring in your devices for open gaming , and your Pokemon Cards for a Pokemon MeetUp . 5th Grade and up .
International Candy Tasting Monday , June 17th @ 6 PM
Sample sweet treats from around the world . 5th Grade and Up .
“ Shop ” ‘ Til You Drop Library Market Wednesday , June 19th @ 6 PM
Teach your children financial responsibility by “ shopping ” with our NPL Bucks . Kindergarten and up .
Hockey Science with the Carnegie Science Center Wednesday , June 26th @ 11 AM
Learn the science behind the game of hockey . 2nd Grade and up .
Read to a Therapy Dog Friday , June 28th @ 11 AM
Build confidence by reading aloud to a therapy dog ! 1st Grade and up .
Camping at Norwin Public Library Saturday , June 29th from 11 AM - 2 PM
Bring the whole family for an afternoon of smores , campfire songs , a scavenger hunt , and outdoor games . Bring a sleeping bag to be entered in a competition . All Ages Welcome !
Nature Hike Tuesday , July 2nd @ 10 AM
Join naturalist April Claus as she introduces us to animals you might find locally , including reptiles and amphibians . Nature hike at Tinker ’ s Run to be held after . 2nd Grade and up .

Eagle Talk with Don German Thursday , April 18th @ 6 PM
Irvin and Claire are bald eagles that nest on the U . S . Steel Irvin Plant . Eagle expert and Irvin / Fairless Manager Don German will discuss everything eagles . For ages 16 and over only .
White Valley Distillery Friday , April 26th at 6:00 PM
Local distiller Jim Battaglia of White Valley Distilling Company will talk about the history of whiskey-making in Western Pa . Tasting will be held after the presentation . This program is for adults 21 + over only WITH VALID ID .
Local Author Book Fair Saturday , April 27th from 11 AM - 4 PM
Stop by the Norwin Public Library and help support our local authors . We will even have an artist drawing caricatures . The Norwin Public Library is happy to support our local authors .
Finding our Foremothers Wednesday , May 1st at 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
The Norwin Public Library will be holding a “ Finding Our Foremothers ” genealogy class . The class looks at some of the challenges of tracing female ancestry .
An Evening with Stan Gordon Wednesday , May 8th at 6 PM
Stan will discuss UFOs , Bigfoot and strange sightings that are happening here in Pennsylvania .
