P lan to see Norwin High School’s production of Mary Poppins this spring. This is the story of the Banks family, who live in a big house in London on Cherry Lane where the two children, Jane and Michael, are out of control and are in need of a new nanny. The show runs from Thursday, March 21st through Sunday, March 24th and features 50 students from the high school and 30 young students in the ensemble and children’s chorus, plus the stage crew. Mary Poppins takes the audience on many magical and memorable adventures as Jane and Michael and the grown-ups in the show learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “anything can happen if you let it.” Tickets are available at www.NHSTheatrecompany.com. Lebanon High School in February. They included Sam Cholodofsky, Hanna Ellis, Alina Jacob, Jaelyn Taylor, Aria Lauritzen, Lauren Leoni, and Palmer Stillio. This year, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association restructured their audition requirements to provide a more rigorous audition experience that included not one, but two advanced pieces (both technical and lyrical) and a sight- singing excerpt. The Norwin Chamber Singers competed against hundreds of other high school students throughout the PMEA District 1 counties of Allegheny, Westmoreland, Greene, Fayette, and Washington. Additionally, Bass I singer Palmer Stillio auditioned at District Choir and was selected to participate in PMEA After a challenging audition, these students represented Norwin High School at this year’s PMEA District 1 Festival.
