The North Huntingdon Township Board of Commissioners has approved a new contract with Pro Waste LLC to provide residential solid waste and recycling collection services for Township residents beginning January 1, 2027.
Under the new agreement, Pro Waste will provide manual collection service, replacing the current automated collection system. The Township believes this transition will continue to provide residents with a reliable service while offering competitive rates. The approved monthly residential rates for 2027 are: o Standard Residential Service: $ 24.00 per month o Senior Citizen Rate: $ 22.08 per month o Senior Citizen Sticker Rate: $ 9.28 per month As part of the transition, the automated collection carts currently used by residents will become the property of the homeowner. Residents may continue to use these carts as they see fit following the change to manual collection service.
“ The Board’ s approval of this contract ensures that North Huntingdon Township residents will continue to receive reliable waste and recycling services at competitive rates,” Manager Faulk said.“ We look forward to working closely with Pro Waste to ensure a smooth and successful transition.”
The current Waste Management services will continue through December 31, 2026, with Pro Waste assuming responsibility for collection services on January 1, 2027.
Over the coming months, Township officials will work with Pro Waste to develop and distribute additional information regarding collection schedules, service guidelines, recycling requirements, holiday schedules, and other details to help residents prepare for the transition.
