Dear Norwin Families and Community Members ,
I
am pleased to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year . As the Superintendent of the Norwin School District , I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside each of you in the coming years to continue Norwin ’ s pursuit of Excellence . Each August , our entire faculty and staff , including over 650 employees , come together for an Opening Ceremony . The theme of this year ’ s program was Achieving Excellence . During the ceremony , we had an opportunity to celebrate our District ’ s Excellence in multiple areas , including achievements in academics , arts , athletics , and activities . A few highlights included the District ’ s # 10 student achievement ranking of 105 Southwestern Pennsylvania Districts as reported in the Pittsburgh Business Times , recognition of the service and accomplishments of our faculty and staff members , and a heartfelt and inspiring message from a Class of 2007 graduate and 2024 Distinguished Alumni .
Throughout the year , I will continue to share examples of Excellence in Norwin academics , arts , athletics , and activities during each Legislative Board meeting . This ongoing focus and recognition aligns with our goal to provide meaningful , innovative experiences and A + facilities for our students and community .
The most important way we work towards excellence is to ensure our students ’ and staff ’ s safety and well-being . It is essential that we continue to provide a secure and nurturing learning environment , equip our schools with the latest safety protocols and technologies , and provide training and resources to ensure that our campuses remain safe spaces for all .
Our students and schools will reach their fullest potential and our District will achieve Excellence when we work in close partnership with families , our Board of Directors , and the greater community . Your voices , involvement , and support are essential to our success . I encourage each of you to stay engaged , share your ideas , and actively participate in the life of our District .
I look forward to our continued work together as we strive toward Excellence and fulfillment of the District ’ s mission to provide a positive , learner-centered environment that supports the growth of all students . orwin
