Norwin School District Welcomes New Staff
Norwin School District is pleased to welcome the following new teachers for the 2016-2017 school year. These teachers were hired after a comprehensive screening and competitive interviewing process, which included various teachers and administrators as panel participants. The above list represents teachers who had been hired prior to press time for this publication. Additional teachers were scheduled to be hired at the August Board meeting.
In addition to the new teachers, a number of Norwin teachers are moving into new or different assignments for the 2016-2017 school year.
The Norwin Technology Department has restructured after the June 30th retirement of Ms. Ruth Toocheck, who had served Norwin School District since 1989. The District is pleased to announce that Mr. Ryan Morgan, who has served as Norwin School District’ s Network Administrator since 2010, has been promoted to Manager of Technology and Network Services. In addition, Mrs. Michelle Lauffer, who has served as Norwin School District’ s Software Support Specialist and Computer Network Technician since 2007, was promoted to Assistant Manager of Technology and Software Services. A Computer Software Specialist is scheduled to be hired at the August Board of Education meeting.
Finally, Norwin School District is pleased to welcome Dr. Stacey A. Snyder as Director of Special Education and Student Services. She worked as a Certified School Psychologist for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit for 14 years, 13 of which she was contracted to Norwin. Beginning July 2013, Dr. Snyder was hired as a Norwin School District School Psychologist where she worked until leaving for the position of Director of Pupil Services at Southmoreland School District in October of 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Washington and Jefferson College and her Master of Science in School Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Snyder earned her Doctor of Education in School Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014.
