KIDZ KABOOM CAMP
Choose your adventure! Kidz Kaboom,
a high-energy, fun-filled camp for
preschool and elementary children, will
be held June 26-29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each
day at Allison Park Church, located at
2326 Duncan Avenue.
Camp choices include art, basketball,
battle games (dodgeball, tag, etc.),
cheerleading, cooking, dance, martial
arts, preschool or soccer. Elementary
children also attend an afternoon live
show that engages all of the senses, this
year featuring a medieval theme, “Royal
Realm.” The preschool program includes
crafts, games, stories and more. For more

The 6th annual Woodland Farms
Lemonade Stand will be held on
Saturday, June 23, from 12 to 4 p.m. It
will be located at the corner of Pinkerton
Road and Scarlet Circle in Wexford—
right off Warrendale Road (the Red Belt).

Foundation
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
(ALSF) emerged from the front yard
lemonade stand of cancer patient
Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In
2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she
wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise
money to help find a cure for all children
with cancer. Since Alex held that first
stand, the foundation bearing her name
has evolved into a national fundraising
movement, complete with thousands of
supporters across the country carrying
on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s
Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered
501(c)(3) charity, has raised more than
$140 million toward fulfilling Alex’s
dream of finding a cure, funding over
690 pediatric cancer research projects

the lemonade, but a donation is greatly
appreciated. A free home-baked cookie
will be given to anyone who makes a
donation. This is a pet-friendly event!
Dog treats and water will be available for
four-legged friends. To-go cups will be
available, and anyone is welcome to drive
up and be served right in their car.
To date, the Woodland Farms
Lemonade Stand has raised over $4,000
for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The goal this
year is to raise $1,200. Donations can also

AUTISM CELEBRATES
ITS 10TH YEAR
In its 10th year, An Evening for
Autism—a fundraising event for Autism
Speaks—recently took place at the
Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry,
raising over $60,000 this year. The event
was organized by a group of North
Allegheny High School teachers and
other volunteers.
