The Franklin Regional Senior High School (FRSH) Panthers Varsity Football team took on the Gateway Gators on October 5. The game was a Channel 22 The Point Friday Night Rivals game. FRSH received a $500 check as a donation from Channel 22 The Point. Shown accepting the check is FR Assistant Superintendent Dr. Mary Catherine Reljac and FRSH Varsity Cheerleaders Tori Glarner, Anna Startari, Natalie Pampena, and Rayna Todero. FRIDAY NIGHT RIVALS DONATION FR STUDENTS TAKE VR TOUR OF SPAIN Students in Ms. Trenessa Smolleck’s FRSH Spanish 3 class, took a tour of Spain using Virtual Reality visors. Students were learning by describing, comparing, and contrasting cities and towns in Barcelona, Spain. Using Virtual Reality, students were able to "visit" Spain, using Google Expeditions. The class "visited" several cities and towns in Spain. The students were able to explain what they saw and heard as Ms. Smolleck acted as the tour guide speaking in Spanish. Students conducted large and small group discussions. The objective was to answer the following questions: Where is it? What is it like there? What destinations/places can you find there? What do people do there? Students wrapped up the learning experience by discussing the cities, comparing and contrasting them to each other and to the student ’s own hometowns as well as the United States in general. FR’S HOMECOMING ROYALTY The 2018 Franklin Regional Senior High School’s Homecoming King and Queen are Nick Leopold and Sidney Beauregard. The two were crowned prior to the Homecoming football game at Panther Stadium on September 21, 2018. Others in the Homecoming Court were Madison Breitkreutz, Tiffany Jolayemi, Payton Shilling, Caitlyn Frantz, Alexandra Reitz, Adam Rudzinski, Danny Soltesz, Jared Smith, Jaden Seman, and Mitchell DeBiase.
