White Valley Volunteer Fire Department
Firefighters responded to 471 alarms for
2,918 total man-hours. The alarms varied
from structure fires to vehicle accidents to
brush fires. Leading the alarms for 2013
were false automatic alarms (134), vehicle
accidents (86), structure fires (35), and gas
leaks/fuel spills/chemical spills (27).

ue to vacancies created by retirements and voluntary
separations, personnel changes included the hiring of
two (2) full-time Police Officers. One Police Officer was
promoted to Sergeant and one Sergeant was promoted
to the rank of Detective Sergeant. The Municipality hired two (2)
full-time Public Works Laborers and promoted three (3) full-time
Public Works employees to vacant Operator and Truck Driver
positions. Other accomplishments included:
• Completion of the renovated Murrysville Community
Library’s Children’s area.
• Welcomed the Blue Spruce Shoppes at the former Blue
Spruce Motel site.
