FRANKLIN REGIONAL NEWS
Franklin Regional School District( FRSD) appreciates how quality communications can positively impact a school community. This summer, with the hiring of the new Director of Development and Communications, FR launched several new communication tools aimed at increasing information sharing with District families and the three communities that FR serves.
According to Cara Zanella, Director of Development and Communications, the new services are helping FRSD reach out to its families during the school year in a timely and efficient manner.
“ In an age of instant communication and social media, districts have an obligation to keep up with the latest technology in order to better serve their stakeholders,” said Mrs. Zanella.“ Since the launch of these new services in June, we have watched our number of followers on Facebook and Twitter and our families who registered for Constant Contact skyrocket. That is very encouraging to know that our families want more information from us. Our hope is that the entire District will eventually register for these new district-wide services in order to stay informed and learn more about the latest events, news, and information for FRSD.”
Constant Contact Email Service Constant Contact is a free, direct email service, which will allow parents / guardians and community members to register, via the District’ s website, to immediately begin receiving emails from the District and its five schools. Notices will include school delays and cancellations, special events, general announcements, e-publications, public meetings, and other information. Through this service, families will also receive the new District e-newsletter, FR Pawprints, which celebrates the accomplishments of the FR students, staff, and District.
Facebook / Twitter The District will be using Facebook and Twitter to promote their student and staff accomplishments, to share news and important messages with the District families, and to announce important events and meetings.
Anyone interested in signing up for these services should visit www. franklinregional. k12. pa. us to register.
