AFRICA, 4:45 p.m., Saturday, July 15:
Yamoussa Camara and the Camara Drum
and Dance Ensemble will perform unique
and exciting arrangements of West
African music, punctuated by original
choreography and authentic costumes
made for the group in Guinea. Camara,
born in Guinea, was one of West Africa’s
premier drummers. He has performed
in Europe, Africa, and the U.S. Currently
he teaches West African Dance at CMU,
Point Park, and leads the African Drum
Ensemble at the University of Pittsburgh.

A Night in Westworld
7 p.m., Friday, August 18
Spend the evening in the absorbing
entertainment of Westworld. Play some
poker, listen to live music, and have a
drink in the saloon. Then head upstairs to
learn about artificial intelligence and 3D
printing in our Maker Space. A 21-and-over
event. Attendees must purchase tickets
online at www.mtlebanonlibrary.org

event; no tickets will be sold at the door.

Roots of African American Soul Food
1 p.m., Saturday, July 15
Experience a soul food kitchen session
with Carleen King, owner of Carmi Family
Restaurant. Learn the art of traditional soul
food cooking and the roots of this beloved
traditional American cuisine. The class will
be featuring candied yams and macaroni
and cheese. This class is open to families
with children 10 years of age or older.
Intro to Indian Vegetarian Cooking

Jayashri Pokharna will prepare a variety of
Indian vegetarian dishes for the audience
to sample as well as discuss the recipes
and the ingredients.

Michael Walter, tour coordinator for the
University of Pittsburgh’s Nationality
Rooms, will discuss the history behind the
making of one of Pittsburgh’s most unique
treasures. He also will have items from the
collections for a special show-and-tell.

Institute, will discuss the history of the
institute in Pittsburgh, its initiatives
and programs as well as the institute’s
upcoming Transformational Technologies
Conference, which will take place in
