ART AND THE WRITTEN WORD: LITTLE LAKE THEATRE 6:30 p. m., Saturday, May 19
Join your friends and neighbors for this after-hours cultural get-together at Mt. Lebanon Library. In this year-long series, you will experience the inspiration of words as they are brought to life through the performing arts! Enjoy food, fun, and an opportunity to talk with the artists. For friends and families of all ages! This month: actors and representatives from Little Lake Theatre in Canonsburg. legendary figure. Drawing on more than 100 interviews conducted over decades of acquaintance, Rodell delves into Palmer’ s character away from the game, examining his relationship to his hometown and its people. The insights and anecdotes showcase a different side of Palmer, giving fans a glimpse of the King passing up his throne for a barstool, Magnolia Lane for Main Street, and the big stage for the small town. Rodell’ s perspective is equal parts journalism and fan mail, combining a professional approach with a relatable, accessible voice. Rodell’ s writing has appeared in publications including Sports Illustrated, Esquire, Men’ s Health, Golf and Arnold Palmer’ s Kingdom Magazine.
BACKYARD COMPOSTING WORKSHOP 7 p. m., Tuesday, May 22
This workshop thoroughly covers the importance and benefits of composting, the process, setting up a compost pile, proper maintenance, and ways of using finished compost. Participants will receive a FreeGarden Earth Compost Bin with attendance. This bin is ideal for urban and suburban areas and has an 82-gallon capacity. Cost: $ 70 per person /$ 75 per couple.
