MAKE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE

Children ages 3 and up and their families can build and
decorate a gingerbread house and listen to stories. The library
will supply the cartons and graham crackers; attendees
should bring a can of icing and leftover Halloween candy to
decorate their house. Registration starts November 12.
FAMILY SING-ALONG

Barnett for the library’s annual fun and interactive day-after-
Thanksgiving sing-along. Musical fun for the whole family.
HOLIDAY FOR THE BIRDS
10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7
Preschoolers (ages 3 to 6) are invited to stop by the library
and make a biodegradable bird feeder for their yard, listen
to stories, and learn about local birds and wild animals with
naturalist Verna McGinley. Presented by the Mt. Lebanon

HANUKKAH CELEBRATION
4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17
Light up your holiday with Hanukkah stories, card making,
and more with Temple Emanuel librarian Paula Altschul and
PJ Library South Hills Ambassador Jen Cohen. A free, family-
friendly program.
NOON YEAR’S EVE
11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31
Bring the kids (or grandkids!) to the library at and countdown
to 12 o’clock—noon, that is! This event features stories, songs,
a craft, and a toast to the New Year with “bubbly” and treats!
For families of all ages.
CASUAL CLASSICAL!

Drop in to listen to the sounds of kid musicians. Register
if your child would like to play a piece he or she has been

TALKING COMICS

Do you love comics? Join us as we go beyond the page with
discussion and creation. For kids in grades 6, 7, and 8.
BOOK EXPLORERS
6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Oct. 15, Nov. 19, Dec. 17
A fun book discussion group for kids in first and second
grade. Encourages reading comprehension, story structure
and love of literacy while casually discussing the book
and sharing a craft or activity. Book selection will vary to
encompass a wide variety of formats and subjects. It is a great
way to strengthen young readers and foster (or create) a love
of reading.
CHESS CLUB
6:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Nov. 13, Dec. 11
Kids in K-7th grade will learn new moves and strategies and
have fun playing with other kids. All levels of chess play are
welcome, but all players should know how the pieces move.
TAIL-WAGGING TUTORS

Children can read aloud to a furry friend. Therapy Dogs
International trains dog listeners. Registration required in the

Are you crazy for comics? Then join us as we read graphic
novels, discuss, draw, and create! For kids in grades 3, 4,
