ORG /KIDS NEW BOOK ON HISTORY OF U.S. VICE PRESIDENTS Moon Township resident Rick Vaccarelli’s new book, “They Never Had A Chance to Spit” is now available on amazon.com. The book takes a look at the men and women who ran for and lost the vice presidency. What happened to them after their brief moment on the national stage? The book profiles the running mates in short vignettes, with interesting facts political junkies or trivia fans will enjoy. The title is based on a comment made by former Vice President John Nance Garner, who advised Lyndon Johnson not to accept the offer to be John F. Kennedy’s running mate because “the vice presidency isn’t worth a bucket of spit.”   ■ MOON TOWNSHIP ❘ WINTER 2019 9
