the Millcreek Township Planning
Commission needed the community’s
help to launch Embrace Millcreek, a new
public engagement and planning
initiative to help guide the future of the
community.
As part of the kick-off, the Planning
Commission developed a community
input survey to give residents a chance to
18 Millcreek
let officials know what their priorities are
and how satisfied they are with core
public services. The residents of Millcreek
did not let them down!
In seven weeks, over 1,000 responses to
the survey questions as well as 500 openended suggestions were received from
the public. The graphs in this article will
show some of the preliminary results from
the survey.
Township Report Card
The Planning Commission wanted to
gain knowledge of what the community
feels are the most important public
services offered and the level of
satisfaction with those services in order
to create a “report card” on the
Township’s performance. The results
show that at over 90% of respondents
reported emergency response services
(i.e. police, fire, and
ambulance) along
with roadway
maintenance are
either “important” or
“very important” to
the general public.
The survey results
also showed that
over 90% of
respondents were
satisfied overall with
the emergency
services provided in
Millcreek Township.
However, 48% of
respondents
reported that the
road conditions in
Millcreek Township
could use
improvements.
