MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP NEWS
MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP’ S ANIMAL RESOURCE OFFICER, WILLIAM SANDSTROM, WANTS TO HELP KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE THIS SUMMER SEASON!
Never leave pets in parked cars – temperatures can become deadly within minutes. Provide constant access to fresh, cool water. Ensure shade or indoor shelter during hot weather. Walk pets during cooler times( early morning or evening). Check pavement temperature – if it’ s too hot for your hand, it’ s too hot for paws. Watch for signs of heatstroke: heavy panting, drooling, vomiting, weakness, or collapse. Use cooling options like pet cooling mats, shaded kiddie pools, or fans.
If you have questions or concerns regarding pet safety, please call 814-833-1111 ext. 393 for more information.
As a reminder, feral felines will not be pursued for capture unless they pose a significant risk to the public or show signs of disease or aggression.
