A SPOTLIGHT ON SEBASTIAN PUDA
What are some immediate challenges you see facing the Public Works Department and how do you plan to address them?
To address the challenge of rising project costs, primarily driven by increasing material prices, I will seek additional funding opportunities by applying for more grants to support project expenses. Regarding stormwater flooding, the focus would be on identifying areas that require drainage improvements, which is being actively addressed by the newly established Stormwater Team. illcreek

What are some of your long-term goals for the Public Works Department?
A key long-term goal is to effectively track problem areas by implementing the new CityWorks software, integrated with GIS, to map and monitor locations in need of repair. Additionally, expanding the sanitary service is a priority, with the goal of identifying areas still lacking connection to the public sanitary sewer system. This will help prevent failing septic systems from contaminating our streams and creeks.
How do you plan to engage with the community and keep residents informed about ongoing projects?
The best way for the Public Works Department to communicate with the community is through our Millcreek Township website. There you will be able to access information on current projects in progress and any road closures that are underway. There are links in the website to social media posts, to get up to date information.
What excites you most about the future of Millcreek Township?
I am most excited about the grants that are being applied for to help fund future projects in Millcreek Township. As project costs keep rising, these grants are critical to help move Millcreek Township forward. Without these grants, future projects may not have the funding to become a reality.
