A NEW ERA IN PUBLIC WORKS:
Can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to become the Director of Public Works for Millcreek Township?
Ever since moving to the Erie area in 1999, my family and I have resided in Millcreek Township. We truly love living here and being a part of this great community.
I have attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management, along with two associate degrees. My first associate degree was in Building Construction and the second was Construction Engineering Technology, which involved taking technical Civil Engineering courses. My bachelor’ s degree included courses in project scheduling, surveying, safety, estimating, finance, and accounting.
I am licensed in Pennsylvania as a Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Energy Inspector, Accessibility Inspector / Plans Examiner, and Building Code Official( BCO).
Director of Public Works, Sebastian Puda
In my 29 years of experience in construction work and utilities, I worked for several Civil Engineering firms and 2 municipalities. I have worked for Millcreek Township for the last 22 years. First with the Millcreek Township Water & Sewer Authorities and then directly for Millcreek Township. I worked on many large projects involving PennDOT, Penelec, National Fuel, and Erie Water Works.
I believe what led me to become the new Director of Public Works was my education, communication skills and my ability to manage several large projects, while working side by side with many different departments at Millcreek Township.
