M
illcreek Township has partnered with CivicRec to
implement its parks and recreation management
software solution. Available from CivicPlus, the
integrated technology platform for local government, the
CivicRec cloud-based recreation management solution will
allow citizens greater visibility into offered parks and recreation
department activities, classes, and sports, as well as more
convenient online registration and payment. In the future,
it will expand to also allow citizens to search for and reserve
community facilities, such as pavilions, shelters all conveniently
online.
Director of Parks and Recreation, Ashley Marsteller, is excited
for this software to launch, “This is a long awaited and highly
anticipa ted technology update that the Parks and Recreation
Department is so glad to be bringing to our residents! With this
software, families can register for their favorite programs any
time of day, virtually anywhere they are! This convenience is
something our program participants have been asking for, so we
are thrilled to be launching this CivicRec product and are hopeful
that residents will enjoy it as
much as we will!”
The CivicRec solution is
designed to be intuitive to
navigate and easy for citizens to
use. It is mobile-friendly, allowing
citizens to search for community
activities and events, register,
and remit payment even from a
smartphone or tablet. There will
be a new link posted on the Parks
and Recreation Department page
that will connect you to our new
online catalog. The first step for
participants will be to create an
account for the household. One
family member will be designated
as the head of the household,
and additional family members
then can be added under that
head of household. This makes
it easier for families to create
just one account instead of
separate accounts for each
family member. After following
the guided steps in creating
an account, residents can then
browse the online catalog or
search for the program they are
interested in. The layout and
search functions of the catalog
have been created to be
similar in description as what
residents are used to seeing
in the InMillcreek magazine.
Upon selecting a program, a
— Ashley Marsteller. full description of the class,
Director of Parks and any requirements of the class,
Recreation and the location of the class
will all be readily available for
review. Residents can select the program, add it to the cart, and
either continue “shopping” for programs, or checkout. The online
checkout system will require the use of a credit or debit card.
With this system then, participants will immediately be able to
see if any spots/seats are left in a class, or if the class is already
full.
“CivicPlus is built on designing innovative solutions for local
governments,” said Mark Friesen, marketing director at CivicPlus.
“We continually invest in our products, such as CivicRec, to
strengthen and transform the way local governments work and
communicate with their citizens and are proud to partner with
Millcreek Township Parks and Recreation Department to help
them accomplish their goals.”
“With this
software,
families can
register for
their favorite
programs
any time of
day, virtually
anywhere they
are!”
