MILLCREEK
Letter from
the Supervisors
Winter 2017/2018 was record breaking! Summer is finally here and we are ready to appreciate
fun in the sun. This issue of IN Millcreek magazine has many interesting and informative articles.
The cover story features the Embrace Millcreek Comprehensive Plan. The article showcases
updates along with information on an upcoming public hearing. Please join us at this meeting
before the plan enters into the final stage before adoption.
The Township Supervisors are very proud to announce that the Millcreek Government
Channel won a Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) Communication
Contest award. The program highlighted Presque Isle State Park’s Spring/Summer events.
Congratulations to the Public Services Department for this
prestigious honor!
Do you know you can take fallen branches and other yard debris
out to the Millfair Compost Center? The Center is now open for the
2018 season and is located at 2301 Millfair Road. Make sure you also
check out the article on the newly adopted Burning Ordinance. This
will address questions you may have regarding recreational fires in
addition to what materials can and cannot be burned.
The Recycling Coordinator would like to remind you to take
advantage of the Millfair Tire Collection and Paper Shred Day held
at the Millfair Compost Center on May 19th and May 20th. She also answers frequently asked
questions from residents on recycling in her “Ask The Coordinator” feature article.
There is good news coming from the Parks & Recreation Department! Online registration is
now available. Summer fun is now only one click away!
Our Public Services Department is again providing information on driver safety classes,
property tax/rent rebates along with Lifeworks programs and their Healthy Steps Workshop.
The Fire Commission has a great article on how YOU can help your local fire departments!
It is our hope you have a fun filled and safe summer. Whether you spend time at Presque Isle,
our local parks or just in your own backyard, enjoy every moment of the good weather. Don’t
forget the sunscreen!

Millcreek Township Wins Statewide Award for
Communication Efforts
Millcreek Township’s efforts to keep its
residents updated and informed about the
community have earned the municipality an
award in the Pennsylvania State Association
of Township Supervisors’ (PSATS) 50th Annual
Citizen Communication Contest. The annual
contest recognizes townships that have
successfully communicated programs and
activities to its citizens.
Millcreek Township received third place in
the Cable TV Programs category for “Presque
Isle State Park.”
All contest entries were judged on the
usefulness of information presented and how
well the information was communicated to
township residents. Publications were also
judged on their overall attractiveness and
readability. In all, 42 townships submitted
99 entries for this year’s competition, and 20
individual townships won awards.
The new location for the Millcreek
Government Channel (MGC) is Channel 1024
for Charter Spectrum customers. Even if you
are not a cable subscriber, you can still enjoy
the programs on YouTube. For the complete
catalog of MGC shows, check out: www.
