A little preparation will give you peace of mind so you can enjoy your trip without worrying about what might happen at home. 1. Don’t broadcast your vacation plans on social media. 2. Lock all doors and windows and double check them. 3. Leave a foyer light on inside the home. 4. Leave a front and rear exterior light on to illuminate the outside near the home so that unwanted persons cannot navigate the exterior under the cover of darkness. 5. Draw curtains or blinds on the first floor to prevent visibility to the inside. 6. Park vehicles in the locked garage if you have one. 7. If you do not have a garage, park your locked car in the driveway near the home and remove all valuables. 8.
