Spring also brings Daylight Saving Time. Along with the usual reminder to change your batteries when you change your clocks, keep these important smoke alarm guidelines in mind: Every level of your home, including basements or cellars, must have a smoke detector( excluding crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics). Smoke detectors should be installed on the ceiling or wall outside each sleeping area, near bedrooms. Always follow the manufacturer’ s installation instructions. Each room used for sleeping must be equipped with a smoke detector.
