RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

ANSWERING THE CALL , NO MATTER THE CONDITIONS
The roads were treacherous . Snow piled high , ice glazed the streets , and travel advisories urged people to stay home . But for emergency responders , staying home was never an option . For dispatchers — the voices behind 911 calls — the storm posed a different challenge . If they couldn ’ t get to work , they couldn ’ t help the community . With snow-covered roads making travel nearly impossible , many were left stranded , unsure of how they would make it to their posts .
That ’ s when Capt . Chris Hauber stepped in . On his own time . In his own vehicle . Without hesitation .

While off duty , Capt . Hauber fired up his personal 4x4 SUV , braved the worsening conditions , and personally shuttled multiple police dispatchers to and from work — ensuring Millcreek ’ s emergency lines remained open and fully staffed . illcreek

He didn ’ t do it for recognition . He didn ’ t do it because he had to . He did it because he cares . His actions during the storm speak louder than any title or rank . Leadership isn ’ t just about what you do when you ' re on the clock — it ’ s about what you do when no one ’ s watching .
And that ’ s what makes Capt . Chris Hauber truly exceptional .
WHEN KINDNESS BECOMES THE WARMEST GIFT
The snow was relentless . Six straight days of plowing , salting , responding , and pushing forward . The exhaustion was real , the hours were long , and the storm showed no signs of letting up .
But in the heart of the storm , warmth found its way through . Not in the weather — but in the people .
Walmart Supercenter Erie - West Ridge Road made sure that energy stayed high , donating boxes of snacks for crews working around the clock . A small gesture ? Maybe . But to those out in the storm , it meant everything .
And then , there was all of you . The residents who waved as plows passed by , the kind words shared in comments and messages , the patience shown during delays — all of it mattered .
WE don ’ t just push through storms — we push through them together . Because here in Millcreek , we don ’ t let the cold win .
SLICE , SLICE BABY !
Passalinqua ' s Pizzeria stepped in , delivering fresh , hot pizzas to keep our plow drivers fueled during their grueling shifts .
Each slice was a small reminder that their work mattered — that the community saw them , appreciated them , and wanted to take care of them , too
