~ IN MEMORIAM ~ ANNE SOKOL
Millcreek Township suffered a great loss when Township Engineer Anne Sokol unexpectedly passed away on December 1 , 2022 , after a brief illness . Anne was a Township employee for 22 years , serving first at Assistant Engineer until being appointed as Township Engineer in February 2018 .
You did not have to spend much time with Anne until the subject turned to her love for animals . She shared her home with numerous dogs over the years and served as a foster for several until they could find permanent homes . Anne had a particular affinity for pit bulls , feeling that the breed had an undeserved reputation , and was the caring owner of many rescued pitties . Having grown up in Pittsburgh and graduating from Pitt , she was a fan of the Penguins and Steelers . Anne owned a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed long rides with her friends and her
husband Eric .
Anne had a heart of gold and would do anything she could to help anyone she knew . She had a way of making everyone she met feel like a friend , and everyone she knew closely feel like family . Anne leaves behind her husband Eric , and her dogs Trish , Brie , and Kona . She will be deeply missed by all .
