Community Center Planning Moves Forward
The Millcreek Township Community Center continues to move forward, building upon years of thoughtful planning and preparation. Township staff and the Board of Supervisors have already completed significant work to position this project for success, including feasibility studies, comprehensive building and property assessments, and environmental reviews. With that foundation in place, the project is now entering an exciting new phase focused on transforming those efforts into a clear roadmap for the Community Center ' s future.
To help guide this next stage, the Township has partnered with r. plan, an Erie-based planning and project management firm led by Amy Murdock. Amy previously worked closely with the Parks and Recreation Department during the development of the Township ' s Five-Year Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan and brings both technical expertise and a strong understanding of Millcreek ' s vision for this project. illcreek

Over the coming months, planning efforts will focus on developing a Master Site Plan for the property, preparing the Community Center for future operations, exploring partnerships and tenant opportunities, identifying funding opportunities, and coordinating the many pieces necessary to prepare for Township occupancy of the facility. This planning phase is an important investment in the Community Center ' s long-term success. Careful planning today will help ensure the facility opens as a welcoming, well-organized, and financially sustainable community asset that serves residents for generations to come.
One of the project ' s next major milestones is the Township ' s anticipated occupancy of the property on January 1. Between now and then, Township staff and project partners will focus on developing the operational framework needed to ensure a smooth transition and a successful opening. The Community Center represents one of the Township ' s most significant investments in recent years, and the Township is committed to thoughtful planning, transparency throughout the process, and regular communication as this exciting project continues to move forward.
