In Memoriam, Mr. Glass volume 1 | Page 8

Mr. Glass has taught me hew rhythm, notes, and much more. He showed me how to play in tune. He helped me by teaching me how to play correct notes. Mr. Glass also told me one time, "If you are going to make a mistake, make it big so we can fix it. Nobody is going to throw a stand at you." Thanks to him I'm doing good in band and i really appreciate what he did for me.

Mr. Glass,

You were a great person to me and I appreciated you so much. The one memory I have is when you used to give me the reeds for the clarinet and when you used to help me out with the notes. It was very hard to hear this bad news, but you're in a better place now. Thank you for all the support you gave me.

I didn't know Mr. Glass, but I know he was appreciated and loved by many of his peers. He was just another teacher I would open the door for or say good morning to. Sometimes we would walk by each other without saying a work to one another. We had no reason to of course, but I still regret not filling in those moments with small talk. Every time I saw him, there was a warmness that came with his presence that would almost remind me of my grandfather. Even though i didn't know Mr. Glass, personally, I know he was a good person with a kind heart. I give my condolences to the Glass family.

Condolences to Mr. Glass' family,

Mr. Glass was an amazing and one-of-a-kind band teacher that i was blessed to have. He was always trying to get the best out of us. Mr. Glass wanted nothing more but to see us succeed. Him and Mr. Williams made an amazing team. The band students at Ricardo Estrada will be missing a big part of their lives and success. Always smiling, and with a positive attitude. We at Ricardo Estrada are heartbroken, but will be more than willing to honor him through our playing and our upcoming UIL competition. Mr. Glass would've wanted us to honor him this way and continue playing music in memoriam. Mr. Glass will never be forgotten.

Sincerely,

Ivan Rossy (clarinetist)

Mr. Glass was always very compassionate in whatever he did. During class he would always help you with anything. Making people laugh with his effortless jokes; he was a natural. Whenever I would walk in to band, an just seeing him everyday, really motivated me to do better than I did yesterday. One of his very famous sayings was "I'm just serious". I really appreciated the times where I would talk to him and he always had a sense of humor. I remember the last time I saw him.

Jawn Glass, gone but never forgotten.
