Rib Fest draws
thousands to
Renzie Park
The Renzie Rib Fest brought thousands of guests
to the Lions Bandshell grounds in Renziehausen
Park on Labor Day weekend for a full schedule of
entertainment and, of course, food.
While guests enjoyed music from Beatlemania
Magic, the Mon Valley Community Band, Buckwild,
Chain Reaction, the Real Deal Band, the Jaggerz,
Tres Lads, and the Igniters, they snacked on a variety
of ribs, wings, sandwiches, and the crowd-favorite
bacon on a stick. The event also included a car show
sponsored by the McKeesport Lions Club.
“The Renzie Rib Fest is a wonderful event that
closes out our Summer Concert Series here in
McKeesport,” Mayor Michael Cherepko said. “This is
yet another event that draws thousands of visitors
to our beautiful Renzie Park for four days of food
and entertainment. I can’t think of a better way to
end our summer.”
McKeesport honors
Jimmy Beaumont
with street naming
Before the Skyliners’ performance at the
Lions Bandshell on August 11, the City of
McKeesport rededicated a section of Tulip Drive
from Eden Park Boulevard to Arboretum Drive
as Jimmy Beaumont Boulevard. Mayor Michael
Cherepko and state Senator James R. Brewster
offered proclamations to the Beaumont family
– honoring the late Skyliners front man for his
storied career and his life in McKeesport.
