Senior Awards Recognize and Honor Seniors For Past Performance and Future Success

The Class of 2025 attended its awards’ day on May 29th and those who worked hard and accomplished goals they set for themselves were recognized and honored by their peers, parents, and school staff.

Scholarships were given by organizations like the McKeesport NAACP, McKeesport Business and Professional Women, the McKeesport Area Fallen Hero awards, and the MAEA. Families of deceased alumni and educators also established a number of scholarships to honor their loved ones annually by helping seniors who meet the set criteria.
Alison Hall and Brady Eastman were the 2025 recipients of the McKeesport Area Fallen Hero Scholarship, as they both will pursue careers related to first responders. Congratulations!
This year’ s Charles Lickert Memorial Award winners are Jessica Miller and Caulan Smith. They are pictured with former MASD teacher and sister of Charles Lickert, Mrs. Patricia Maksin on the left, and on the right, Athletic Director Charley Kiss, who received the Lickert award in 1998. The Charles Lickert Memorial Award is presented annually to a senior male and female athlete who have participated in more than one varsity sport while attending McKeesport Area High School. Athletes must nominate themselves for the award and the selection of the award recipients is voted upon by all district coaches. Charles Lickert was a former McKeesport Area High School athlete who was killed in an automobile accident on August 29, 1980 along East Fifth Avenue in McKeesport. Shortly thereafter, the award was created by the late Bill Lickert to forever honor his son. The school district also retired the # 11 from the football program in honor of Chuck.
