improved their teaching or their students’ learning. By developing teacher leaders and partnering them with principals, MASD is creating professional learning that is relevant, connected to classroom needs, and more likely to continue making an impact long after a training session ends.
Throughout the summer, ILN members strengthened their leadership skills, studied student data, examined effective instructional practices, and developed resources for their colleagues. Their work was carefully planned with principals and district leaders so that professional learning supports the specific goals of each school while keeping the entire district moving in the same direction.
Our educational leaders also had the opportunity to learn from highly respected regional experts, including Dr. Melissa Boston, Dr. Heather Moschetta, Dr. Vicki Ryan, and Dr. Holly Pope. These accomplished trainers shared their expertise in mathematics, literacy, evidence-based writing, data-informed instruction, and effective teaching practices. Their sessions gave MASD educators practical strategies they can carry directly into classrooms this year.
All of this summer learning has positioned MASD to begin the year with energy, clarity, and a strong sense of shared purpose. Our principals are leading their buildings with clear goals. Our ILN is ready to support educators. Our district and school teams are working together, and our teachers have a growing network of colleagues and resources behind them.
We are entering this school year anchored in what matters most, aligned in our efforts, and accountable for the growth of every student.
