Francis McClure Elementary School, Twin Rivers Elementary School, and Founders Hall Middle School will provide the following:
A. A rigorous high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the state’ s student academic achievement standards. Some of the goals for reading and math for the elementary and middle schools are below:
In Reading …
● Acadience DIBELS( Dynamic Indicator of Basic Early Literacy Skills)
● Kindergarten through 5th grade uses Amplify CKLA
● Supplemental reading programs based on student need for reading intervention groups( Amplify Remediation, Heggerty, Fundations, Phonics for Reading, 95 % Group Multisyllabic Routine Cards, REWARDS, 95 % Comprehension)
● 120 minutes( 3rd – 5th grade)- 160 minutes( Kindergarten- 2nd grade) daily for Language Arts instruction which includes a 40-minute enrichment period across the grade level.
● Flexible grouping within classroom to differentiate instruction
● Assessment schedule at each grade level – test data is used to chart progress and drive instruction
● Grade level meetings – twice a month
● Instruction using baseline data derived from Acadience, CDT, ExactPath( Twin Rivers) and PSSA Testing
● Professional Development courses offered by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit and PATTAN.
● Professional learning and resources for all staff on the PA Core Standards for English Language Arts.

● Flexible grouping within classroom
● Instruction using data derived from PSSA, DIBELS, CDT and classroom assessments
● Professional Development – participation in grade level meetings in order to have continuity across mathematics in all grade levels
● Math enrichment in class, as well as, support by a math specialist through Math Lab Special( Twin Rivers) in all grade levels
● STEAM classes for all students during the specials rotation( Twin Rivers)

● Common Assessments and Progress Monitoring
● Study Sync Reading / Language Arts Series
● Specific evaluation schedule at each grade level – test data is used to chart progress and drive instruction
● Curriculum meetings
● Department meetings
● Instruction using baseline data derived from PSSA, CDT and common assessments
● Professional Development provided to all staff
● Offer parent workshops as requested on PSSA, Title 1 Reading, Writing and Technology
● Standardized writing rubric to assess student writing within all academic areas
● Skill-based instruction provided for all students during enrichment
● Additional tutoring time available for students during the after-school program
● All staff members of Reading and Language Arts are appropriately state certified in either middle level or secondary level certification. Sixth grade teachers are appropriately state certified elementary level certification.
● Reading Specialist will provide instruction to identified students based on assessment data during the 80-minute ELA block to targeted students while core teachers differentiate lessons for their students.
