DORMONT FASHION ALLEY
Hollywood Lanes Bowling Alley was transformed to “ Fashion Alley ” for the night as vintage cars and motorcycles welcomed over 250 guests to a fundraising fashion show and cocktail party .
James Houk , Brookline and L . A . designer , envisioned the creative concept behind the show — a rock and roll-style runway fashion show on the alleys . The event , produced by Houk , Jeffrey Clement ( owner of Hollywood Lanes ), and Diane Withrow , was the first of its kind , featuring fashion , rockabilly music performed by Sugar Ray Morrison and the Soul Village Band , and a dance number by Robert Cronkhite and Faith Musko . Joining Houk in displaying fashion designs were Brian David ’ s evening gowns , Kiya Tomlin , Stacy Lawrence ( modeling her own design ), and Sasha Gardner . Proceeds benefited the Children ’ s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation .

DORMONT ATHLETIC BOOSTERS ANNOUNCE 2017 MONTE CARLO NIGHT
Monte Carlo Night will be held on Feb . 25 at the Dormont Recreation Center ( the building at the Dormont Pool ), and will feature horse races , small games of chance , food and drinks . Tickets are $ 15 , and you must be 21 + to attend . Horses are $ 10 . The Castle Shannon Train Show not only wowed crowds and raised money for the Castle Shannon Volunteer Fire Department , but it also included an impressive Lego display provided by the Steel City Lego Users Group ( LUG ). The event featured more than 200 tables of electric trains and train parts for sale and on display . If you ’ re selling / buying items online and looking for a safe place to exchange them , Green Tree Borough now has a Safe Exchange Zone located in the Municipal Center parking lot behind the police station . The area is designated by signage and is under 24-hour video surveillance . While the borough assumes no liability for anything that may happen onsite , the safe zone does add a layer of security and peace of mind for those who are wary of meeting with strangers to buy or sell items using the Internet .

ALCOSAN CLEAN WATER ASSISTANCE FUND
The Allegheny County Sanitary Authority ( ALCOSAN ) has launched its Clean Water Assistance Fund , which will help low-income families and individuals pay their ALCOSAN bills . ALCOSAN has committed nearly $ 1 million to this vital customer assistance program for qualifying residents in the 83 municipalities that make up the authority ’ s service area .
