The 43rd annual Wine Fest , held Sept . 27-29 in downtown North East , offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to taste and try more than 100 varieties of award-winning white , red , blush , bubbly , fruity , ice and innovative wine .
This annual celebration of North East ’ s grape growers and the fruits of their labor has lots to do and enjoy , so be sure to stamp your wine country passport with these experiences :
SIP – Ready to drink in the fruits of the region , discover new favorites and chat with knowledgeable sommeliers and winemakers ? Tasting passes can be purchased for a single day or the entire weekend and include a souvenir wine glass and unlimited tastings , plus a token to purchase a bottle of wine to drink on-site while enjoying live music , food and more than 60 artisan and craft vendors .
STOMP - Grape stomping is back ! Stop by Heard Park to try this unforgettable experience and winemaking tradition that dates back centuries .
GROOVE – The Wine Fest stage is set to host some of the best local bands playing favorites from a variety of genres and decades . Friday features the Ralph Chamberlain Duo , Denny & Heather and Shoreline . Saturday the Jeff Fetterman Duo , Petty Larceny , Zen City , Never Too Late and Jack Stevenson & the Buried Treasure Band take the stage . Sunday sounds include Rock Avenue and the Carnival Brothers .
SHOP – Stroll through the park and shop from a wide variety of vendors including bonsai and live plants , chainsaw art , handmade wood bowls , baskets , stained glass , women ’ s clothing , jewelry and headbands , custom hats , pet products and more .
TASTE – Food truck row offers sandwiches , wraps , tacos , fried baskets and dessert . Plus sprinkled around the event are booths with specialty chocolates , oils , hot sauce , jerky , kettle corn , Bavarian nuts , snack mix , relish and more .
